NFL Stars of the Week – Preseason Week 1

The NFL Weekend Stars series will take a look at three offensive and three defensive stars from every week of the season and pre-season. It will also look at one dud from the previous week. I will be keeping track of who appears most on this list to help keep track of the players who made the biggest impacts in the NFL this year. This weeks stars can be seen after the jump.
Grading the Steelers 2008 NFL Draft

We will look at the Pittsburgh Steelers draft today.
Round 1 Pick 23: Rashard Mendenhall, RB, Illinois: This was by far the best pick of this draft. Mendenhall has been exactly what the Steelers needed as one of the best RB’s in the league. He has been a workhorse and is coming off his best season ever. His rookie season was ended as soon as it began but since then he has only gotten better. His carrying has improved and his vision has as well. Pick Grade: A
